Author Spotlight – Catherine Zampier

Catherine Zampier is constantly learning and drawing inspiration from family stories, as well as, writing and sharing family-themed picture books for young and old. Her picture book, One of Thirteen, stems from stories of her mother’s childhood. Catherine is the mother of three sons, sibling of three brothers, grandmother of two granddaughters, with over fifty aunts and uncles, and over seventy-one cousins.

She is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY and has worked in the field of regular and special education for over twenty years. Catherine hopes that sharing her family stories will encourage kids to explore the history and heritage with their own families. Catherine has lived in New York’s Capital Region her entire life. Her picture book, One of Thirteen, includes family questions to spark conversations with children and a family tree chart to fill out together.

In this episode, we honed in on family heritage.
